EXAMINIATION AND PROMOTION

The academic year is divided into two terms: April to September and October to March. There is an examination at the end of each term and "progress report" is issued.

As per directions of CBSE, CCE will be followed for classed I-X. Continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) refers to a system of school based evaluation of a student that covers all aspect of a student's development. It includes assessment in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas as given below:

Part-I

Scholastic Areas:

It is divided into two categories. Category A includes main subjects which are evaluated using formative and summative assessment on a nine point scale.
Formative Assessment includes unit test, regular assignments, projects, quiz, class test etc.
Summative Assessment consists of two exams at the end of each term in the month of September and March.
Category B includes areas like, work experience, Art Education, Physical Education which are evaluated on a five point scale

Part-II

Co-Scholastic areas
1.A. It includes Thinking Skills, Social Skills, Emotional Skills which are evaluated on a Five point scale.
2.B. it includes Attitudes and Values - towards Teachers, School mates, School programmes, Environment and Value system which is Evaluated on a five point scale.

Part-III

Co-Scholastic Activities:
1.It includes Literary and Creative Skills, Scientific Skills, Aesthetic Skills and Clubs. any two are evaluated on a five point scale.
2.It includes Health and Physical Education. Any two activities have to be assessed on a five point scale, out of the different activities given.
3.It is mandatory to appear in both summative assessments during the academic year.
4.Exemption or re-consideration for summative assessment will be granted only to those students who represent school for inter school competitions/tournaments or national games.
5.Serious action will be taken if the marks/grades are tempered with.
6.No request will be entertained to anticipate/postpone any unit test for individual students for any reason whatsoever.
7.In case of illness, the student should not be sent to school for any test or exam. The final result will be settled on the basis of CCE.
8.Willful breach of any of the regulation pertaining to the class test or summative assessment is punishable which will lead to disqualification from assessment/test. If a student is caught using or assisting in the use of unfair means in the exams or test, the same will be considered null and void.
9.Discrepancies in awarding marks, if any should be brought to the notice of the respective teacher/principal within 24 hours of the distribution of answer scripts.
No change in marks or grades will be permitted after the stipulated time, nor any complaint entertained to that effect. Every student is required to get a qualifying grade 'D' or above in all the subjects for promotion to the next class. Result declared at the close of the year is final in all cases and will not be reconsidered.
Note:- No student will be permitted to appear for summative assessment 1 and summative assessment 2 unless all dues are cleared.

6. If your ward is sick durning exam, you must within two days of absence :
(i)

Send your letter in duplicate.

(ii)

Attach to the above medical certificate.

(iii) Submit the above mentioned to the office immediately. In any case the child will not be examined.
